I was torn--do I let Chimera establish a Ning presence of her own, or do I tie this Ning network to the others that Liz belongs to--and as you can see, I went with the latter. You can see some of Chimera's incarnations (should you be interested) on my Facebook page if you invite the Liz identity there to be your friend...cheers!

When I discovered NING a few days ago, I was overwhelmed. Overwhelmed
especially by the networking possibilities on here and spontaneous
friendship offers, for which I am very grateful.
I
cannot blog here, but at least I would like to share from time to time
(for those who care) what we are doing in our corners of SL.
The
most important project we are working on this time is the Festival of
Languages on Belle Isle. On the occasion of "European Day of
Languages", which has been cele…

Once we had aliens, things were much easier. Now that there're hundreds of worlds, on which side will you stand? Is Kaneva cooler than Second Life? Does Entropia beat Eve Online? Have a look at ‘War of the Worlds’ and join the fight.…

Tuesday at 1pm, our Dean said he really wanted a video of science
research and education in Second Life to show to other Deans at a
meeting he was going to. The consensus was that this was doable, with a
bit of a learning curve involved, though -- when did he want it?
Thursday afternoon. Oh. Oooohhhhhh. We had a team of three to do this
-- a videographer and me and my partner in crime, so to speak. The
videographer would do the post-processing, but didn't know SL. My SL
partner and I didn't know…

Went to the grand opening of the Michigan Library Consortium in Second Life a few days ago, and just uploaded the pics to Flickr. Last weekend went to the opening of the new Ethics collection for the Caledon Whitehorn Memorial Library, and took pics there, too.

OK, folks, as promised, here are the slides from my class.

I went on vacation to my nephew's wedding right after, so haven't been as virtually present as usual. Got a good response from this session, and are hoping more people attend the next couple sessions. Wednesday, we're doing a brown bag that is basically how to have a good experience as a newbie. I hope. :)

In another life, I spent the better part of three decades working with young adult learners, college students, aged 18 to 23 or so. They’re a fascinating group – fledgling or apprentice adults – and they’re invigorating to be around. They are capable of mature thinking and profound creativity, and unhampered by knowledge that some things just won’t work the way we want th

I've been helping with some workshops about Second Life for the TLT Group. We've got a blog started to support it at http://tltgslworkshop.blogspot.com/ There's so much good material everywhere, it's hard to decide where all the best places to send new users interested in educational uses of Second Life!

Gave an unexpected tour on Friday of Second Life Science and Clinical
spaces. Just a couple -- Max Chatnoir's Genome, Ollie's incredible
skeletons at ARC Research Center, & NMC's Life Sciences Bldg. My
three biggies. Ollie came over and talked with our group -- very nice
of him. Planning to do another tour soon, less informally, and pull together
slurls for all.

First, thanks to Lori for starting this network, and for all her other real and virtual contributions. What is reality, anyway?
Second - Ning! It's come a long way in the last couple of years.
Third - welcome to my obsession with the ancient and living Maya, on both sides of the Usumacinta River, between Mexico and Guatemala. In SL, please visit Xibalba and Echoditto. http://www.gomaya.com/glyph

I am primarily a Builder/Developer in Second Life. However I create musical faberege eggs, clothing and furniture which gives me many creative outlets in the game when not involved with building for my many Clients.
Currently at the time of this post, I have built 14 sims and countless individual custom small builds for Clients. Inclusive of a Teen Grid (known as Nubian Boa) assignment that has really effected me in many ways positively the upcoming Teens will inspire all around to do…

Well, who's who in the virtual world? For me, that's somebody who can make you laugh, somebody who gives you an honest compliment, someone who offers a smile, a random act of kindness, a tireless "hi" "where are you from", a friendly nod. Sombody like this is who's who in a virtual world. My vote is for someone who makes others feel like somebody when they come into the virtual world. And, I imagine that's you, no pomp, no circumstance, no applause, just healing the world with kindness.
